>> Solid top 10 finish for Bridgman at Siverstone | 14 August 2005
British Formula 3 driver Tim Bridgman finished 8th in a good Round 15 race at Silverstone. The 20-year-old from Essex improved his grid position of 12th to move into the point-scorers and was rewarded with three Championship points.

Bridgman put in increasingly quick laps to provide some of the only overtaking in the race, exchanging 9th position with Ryan Lewis (T-Sport) on multiple occasions. Bridgman eventually clinched the spot ahead of Lewis, then overtook James Walker (Fortec), to claim 8th place. "It was good to score points here," said the Hitech Racing driver. "I enjoyed the racing and gaining four places from my initial grid position is satisfying. I would like to express my thanks to the Hitech Racing team who put in a lot of work this weekend - their contribution has been invaluable."

The points came at a price however: a flat-spotted tyre from the race left Bridgman unable to compete in the second race as he was without spares, the first set having suffered from taking Copse too quickly in qualifying and from a puncture in the race on Saturday.

But Bridgman took it all in his stride. "Coming away from the weekend with a solid finish in the points is a great way to go into the final leg of the series. It is very unfortunate that I was unable to start the second race today, as I feel focused and in-form."

Bridgman next races on the first weekend of September at Nürburgring, when the British F3 International Series returns to mainland Europe for the final continental race of the season.
