>> Bridgman set for Silverstone | 05 August 2005
British Formula 3 driver Tim Bridgman has put his vexatious weekend in Monza behind him and plans to start afresh at the upcoming rounds at Silverstone. “I regard Monza as the low point of the season for me,” says Bridgman. “But I have reflected upon the events of the weekend and have taken away many positives from the experience.”

The Silverstone rounds on the second weekend of August are again a treble-header, with the second deferred Spa race currently slated to run on Saturday. Bridgman, who will start from 10th on the grid in that race, is conscious there is still more than a third of the 2005 championship left to run. “There are effectively nine races remaining in the series, and I’m keen to end my first year in F3 on a high,” he said. Together with Hitech Racing he is focused on demonstrating the team’s full capabilities in the last phase of season 2005.

The two regular F3 rounds are scheduled for Sunday. Bridgman is excited by the prospect of racing at Silverstone, the spiritual home of British motorsport. “Competing at Silverstone is both humbling and exciting. I think it’s a circuit that resonates with all British drivers, having produced so many great races and impressive drivers. Having the opportunity to drive there is really inspiring for me, and I am looking to make it a turning point in the season.”

Qualifying for rounds 15 and 16 starts at 11am and 5.30pm on Friday 12 August, with the round 4 Spa race at 12.15 Saturday and the principle rounds on at 11.15 and 16.00 on Sunday 14 August.
