>> Bridgman forced to abandon Mondello Rounds | 16 September 2005
Injuries have precluded British driver Tim Bridgman's participation in the penultimate rounds of this year's Formula 3 International Series. Bridgman (Dunmow, Essex) ventured out to Ireland's Mondello Park for practice testing on Friday, but despite a valiant attempt to pilot his F3 car, found it impossible to cope with the pain caused by burns he sustained from a yard fire at his home on Wednesday.

Bridgman was pragmatic about his decision and did not regret the painful process it took to reach it. "I tried my best but found it impossible to keep the car on the track let alone drive competitively," he said.

Bridgman will now be focusing on returning to peak condition before the final rounds of the 2005 series at Silverstone on 8-9 October.
