>>Bridgman at home in Montreal | 28 August 2006
Montreal, Canada: 28th August, 2006 - Dunmow's Tim Bridgman may call Montreal his second home while racing in the Champ Car Atlantic this year and, with the torrential rain there on Sunday postponing the race, the Briton said following the incredible heat of some races this season, the extraordinarily wet weather felt more like racing in England. So it was no surprise Bridgman was not deterred by the delay and acquitted himself well in the 50-minute, 26-lap race, making up five places over the course of the famous Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.

Tim Bridgman: “It absolutely poured down on Sunday, so much so they had to postpone the race to Monday. So it was an entirely different experience to the races we have had here over the summer, some of which have been nearing 40-degree heat.”

It was really good to be home in Montreal though; I qualified 22nd on the Saturday, so just regrouped for the race and eventually finished 17th, which wasn’t too bad result – I scored an additional point for improving the most positions. It was a very competitive race, with most of the cars finishing, so it is a good positive to take away from the weekend.

Now there’s only one more race remaining – the legendary Road America, at the end of September. I’ve had a good learning year as a rookie runner in this year’s revised Champ Car Atlantic and hope to finish on a high there. It’s been an awesome experience, so I aim to do the Epson Team Jensen proud and work together with them to bring home a great final race.”
