Bridgman storms to Round 4 pole
|
27 April 2007
Tim Bridgman stole the show as he set a jaw-dropping lap to take pole position for tomorrow's fourth round of the 2007 Visma Formula Palmer Audi Championship.
Bridgman, who will start Round 3 from second on the grid behind Jolyon Palmer, set a best time of 1 minute 25.168 seconds to steal pole from Stefan Wilson by a quarter of a second. "I've got the result I was hoping for, and I feel better and better in the car every time I drive it."
Former Formula BMW UK champion Bridgman was in bullish mood about the third and fourth rounds of the championship, both of which take place on the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit tomorrow. "There's two races and someone's gotta win them, so why can't it be me?" said the 21-year-old.
Third went to Palmer, having been deposed from the top of the timesheets for the first time this weekend, just ahead of Luciano Bacheta who will start both races from fourth. Jason Moore improved significantly to start fifth, followed by Jack Clarke, Richard Kent and Chris Bell. Dominik Jackson wound up in ninth place, with Giacomo Petrobelli best of the veterans in 10th.
