>>Bridgman turns to 06 | 16 November 2005
Dunmow’s Tim Bridgman is looking into America’s rejuvenated development series as attractive possibilities for next year.

The leading US feeder championships, including the rebranded Champ Car Atlantic Championship and the Infiniti Pro Series, have assembled rewarding programs for 2006 that are drawing drivers from around the world.

Bridgman is flying across the Atlantic in late November to undertake some winter testing. The 20-year-old will spend a week stateside assessing the US racing scene. He says, although the trip is not the usual route for European drivers, he is keeping an open mind. “In junior categories drivers are basically always aiming for F3, so it is a little unconventional to be considering racing in America. But looking at the various Championships over there – they are offering great racing packages and definitely should not be ruled out.”

The two-time single seater champion, who has been busy training to be at his best for winter testing, says he is switching his focus to 2006 and looking forward to getting back behind the wheel. “I miss being in the car, and miss all the testing and racing. Competing in such a tough championship – it was great just to be there,” said the 20-year-old. “I’m looking forward to the American testing, and getting back out in a racing car. I’m very keen to get on with my career and go out and do a good job whatever I do.”
