Bridgman out but not down in Denver

14 August 2006
Denver, USA: 14 August 2006- Tim Bridgman recorded a dnf at Denver on the weekend, in the third last race of the Champ Car Atlantic series.
The Epson Team Jenson driver qualified 18th on Saturday and made up three places to run in 15th in the race on Sunday but was never fully able to reach top pace for the event. Contact on lap 18 of the 35-lap race forced him to retire.
Tim Bridgman: It was my first time visiting Denver and I thought it was a fantastic city, a great place to hold a race. The track was fairly simple but challenging. Unfortunately we lacked the pace this weekend, the balance of the car was good however we just lacked global grip and so it is probably fair to say that it was actually my most difficult race weekend ever in terms of pace.
To be crashed out the race is a shame but it is going to happen from time to time, the driver behind was apparently squeezed by someone next to him and the contact he made with the rear of my car sent him up over the top of me and upside down into the fence, so it was good to see he was ok.
We now have a two day test before Montreal so with hard work there I am optimistic we can have a good result at my home race.
Bridgmans Montreal race is in two weeks time. It is the penultimate race of the 12 race series in which Bridgman is in his rookie year.
